I remember from my advertising class this is legal. They set aside a certain amount for the sale which is disguised as "until stock runs out". It's sleezy but not illegal. You can usually find it the fine print of the original add. The rule was set back in the 70s, when stores would advertise deals to get people into their store, but only have 3 or 4 items at the deal price.

I just had it happen during the holidays, they had istick 100W for $22 and they were sold out quick, but back in stock the next day. Maybe I should have gotten the istick 200W for $24 but I'd blow my budget. Must buy batteries for my new toys.

I understand that and it still is slimy and crooked as hell. I personally will never do business with assholes that want to operate like that. I'll spend my money at an honest business that wants my patronage.
