RE: Back to my old love
I'd have the IM waiting in the wings of course.

In some ways, I regret ever doing DL in the first place. I did MTL for the first few months of the journey and rather enjoyed it. Just the break-off from analogs alone was fantastic. But it tasted good, of course. And I was satisfied. I was, of course, trained to 'evolve' into the hot trend- subohm DL. And as such, I really was more or less forced into it, since I knew so little about vaping and sort of assumed it was the way everyone's trajectory went. Looking back, honestly, I never would have tried it. I would be a little toodler like you and happy as a little clam. Man, the cost and maintenance savings are fantastic, and worth the re-training. But I won't force it if the enjoyment factor never recovers.

I am going to clean up and rebuild the deck of the Big Buddha for a target of about 14J. I will have the IM ready next to me if I need it. Wish me luck!

RE: Back to my old love
It's been so long since I used other atty's that I made a mistake, and built on the Boreas instead. Airflow isn't suited to MTL, forgot about that. Sigh.

Don't rush into TW - get yourself prepared - mentally - it will be difficult at first to change.

Funny thing is that when I made the commitment to toddle again it was a very natural transition. I just put down my series mods and picked up my provaris. And wondered why I had ever put the provaris down in the first place? Now I've really tweaked my style of toodling. I use four very small devices - two with nautilus 2s, one pod with coils (breeze) and one with a small tank (jwell passy). My other devices are all devices that could go up anywhere from 60 -230 watts. I just vape them at 13 - 20 watts.

We will all be glad to help TW. Think of getting a nice tank that takes coils and a nice RTA. That will help you get started.

I don't expect a difficult time physically at all. I can get that done fine. I just need to learn to live without the fog machine.

OK, so I want a 4-6ml tank good for MTL, with single and dual coils abilities. Hit me Paul...

RE: Back to my old love
You want the berserker RTA - single coil though ... up to 4.5 ml (you get two tanks with it). You want to MTL - no need for dual coils. For a tank with prebuilt coils get the vika fantasy and use the nautilus .7 ohm coil.

If you have the money the Rose 3 RTA is super. And the Kabuki tank is super.

Honestly my go to RTA is the Hurricane Jr. and my go to pre built is the Nautilus 2 (I do use my Kabuki and Vika Fantasy a lot too). However the Berserker just might replace the hurricane on one of my mods. Hurricane Jr. clones are actually quite good. And you can do a modified DTL on them. In fact they are more a light DTL than an MTL. The SXK and the SMJY are both decent. Not that I don't have an authentic but you know ... I cannot tell the difference - the clones are that good.

I don't understand the fascination of dual coils. Even when I occasionally use a dripper I prefer ones that can take a single coil (even if it is a .15 - .2 ohm single). I don't have any RTAs other than my EVL reaper that take dual coils now that I can MTL. I have 30ml tanks with dual coils of course. But like I said - I rarely use them these days. They just sit on a mod and look pretty.

RE: Back to my old love
The only thing I liked about DL was the airflow. Uwell Crown tank with the airflow fully opened has no resistance at all. It's like you're breathing vape. But everything else was just not for me.
Cigarettes calmed me down. So, calmness is what I really want from my vape experience; tranquility. Working the vapor to my mouth, my nose, and my lungs, is what I want. Something I can't really do on DL.
I am not judging anyone, I never judge, especially about vaping. If your style of vaping makes you stay away from smoking, you must be more than happy!

RE: Back to my old love
Just to throw my two cents worth in...

I've also reached a stage where I don't vape as high wattage as I used to. At least, not as often. I really enjoy cloud chasing, but lately I care much more about flavor and, let's be honest, the nicotine since things have been a bit stressful for a while. I used to vape 100W or higher almost all the time. Now I rarely go above 50W, with 6mg juice instead of 3mg. That's what's working for me right now. I'm still a DL vaper and I doubt I could go back to exclusive MTL, but it's been strange to notice myself vaping at lower wattage and using less juice without even meaning to do so.

RE: Back to my old love
The biggest trepidation I have is going to MTL style. Regardless of wattage, it just isn't the lungfull that DL is. What I did do, for the meantime until I decide if I'm getting an MTL atty, is build a straight 28/40 Clapton parallel at .5 ish ohms, 28w. It's still a free draw, but with reduced power. Maybe a compromise is the best I will be able to accommodate.
