RE: Atomic Wire, what is it?
So we have 26ga at 5.26 ohms per metre. Which is 0.1288 square millimetres.

So 0.1288 = 5.26. What will 1mm2 be.

1/0.1288 = 7.764

So divide 5.26 by 7.764 = 0.68 ish

Nothing on the Kanthal list around that. the closest is this stuff. I think an SS alloy close to 304 is probably more likely.

But I'm not sure my logic is correct here.

RE: Atomic Wire, what is it?
There are over 50 stainless steels, 5 of those are 304 variants. Not all have resistance figures available, but 304L seems a likley choice.

An fyi.. There are no new alloys being made by vaping wire companies, everything being used is an off the shelf product. No vaping company has a wire patent that I've seen (I did check Tongue) there are alloys still under patent and only produced under licence, vaping companies would struggle to market any of those.

Don't forget to apply for the freecycle section!

RE: Atomic Wire, what is it?
There are essentially an infinite number of alloys.

Pick a particular variant, the possibilities are still infinite.

As to which possibilities have ever been made.

Or ever will be...

You choose a set of chemical/physical/metallurgical properties that suit you.

You can either make your new super alloy.

Or what you'll actually do is look through the book of alloys actually made and find the cheapest one that will do what you want it to. Unless you are a governmental body or funded by one, you aren't about to get folks to make your own super alloy.

If you do choose to go down the ultimate alloy for what you want - you end up with a complete mess like the F35 project. Which can only be spelled D I S A S T E R. This is a typical example. This is one of my favourites.

My sister in law was briefly the project manager of the UK project to build carriers only usable with this abortion.

RE: Atomic Wire, what is it?
PaulS thank you for the info, I will remember that. I am gonna go find some different wire to use. Doing research to see what people suggest for flavor.

RE: Atomic Wire, what is it?
Wire affects flavor but the type of coil is important too. I find that my fused claptons have the best flavor and they are often only Kanthal. Adding nichrome to your Kanthal claptons will ramp them up faster but I'm a lazy builder so I just go all Kanthal usually and don't bother. People around the web swear that SS is a cleaner taste and I use SS - a heavier gauge twisted or just a single wrap. They put out good flavor too. However, it seems you want to vape in TC. There are very few mods that let you vape Kanthal in TC. The Hohmwrecker G2 and the Hohmwrecker Slice will though. The FSK chip is rock solid.

RE: Atomic Wire, what is it?
Sorry so long to get back. I have 20ga Atomic wire. I did dual coils with 9 wraps a piece, in a OBS Crius Plus. I am on a kick using Donkey Punch. A buddy of mine told me just stay VW and not worry about TC so I have been playing around and I find with my 9 wrap coils at 100w, 3.16v, and it reading 0.10 ohms I get a superb flavor, I really can now tell why people say it's got a good trading card bubble gum taste. I plan on ordering some new juices mainly chocolate/Carmel/ etc and see how they do with my build.

Want to say you guys are super awesome. I appreciate all the info.
