New coil question
I'm vaping a 50 watt eleaf istick and I usually keep the settings at 2.7 volts and 25 watts with a 0.2 coil. Local shop was out of 0.2 so I went with 0.5. Just put in a new 0.5 coil with the same settings and it seems like the nicotine level is all of a sudden kicking my butt! (I use 12mg) and it seems harsher on my lungs?

What am I doing wrong? Should I change the settings on my eleaf? If so,  what to?

Thanks in advance! Smile

RE: New coil question
Hi there Sarah28. 27 watts on a .5 will be hotter than the same on a .2 . Higher resistance means higher heat, not by much but I guess it could vaporise more nic. Unfortunately turning it down will hit the vapour and flavour production quite hard, only cure imo is either go back to the .2 when you can or drop the nic level in your juice. 12mg is quite high for sub-ohming. Hope that helps

RE: New coil question
Welcome to TVF Sarah!

Good advice above... you could try notching it down on the watts a bit and see how you get on, that's what I would do.

RE: New coil question
Hi - I'm with Spasmod on this - you do not need as high watts with the .5ohm coil as you do with the .2ohm. Also could I suggest cutting the nic. content drastically - 12mg for sub ohming is far too high - 6mg. would be max. and 3mg would be better - IMO[Image: smile.gif].

RE: New coil question
If you use a higher resistance coil, you have to lower the wattage in order to get the same output voltage. If you keep the same setting with a higher resistance coil, it will heat much faster and hottest so it will produce bigger hits. That is probably why the nicotine is kicking your butt. I agree that 12mg is too high for sub ohming. I usually go with 6mg with higher wattage.
