70/30 and Nicotine Help Newbie here :)
Hey guys, just joined and looking forward to being in these forums.
I am starting the adventure of making my own juice for personal use bc where I live it is almost impossible to get good juice and 3 x as expensive.
I am trying to buy all the correct supplies and needed some help with purchasing the correct materials.
Where I live it is impossible to get me many things, mainly nicotine and flavors bc Nicotine is illegal for sale in the current country where I am living.
I did find a dealer who has 120ml of 34mg nicotine and 30 ml of 34mg nicotine, but she told me it was pure liquid nicotine and not deluted in PG or VG.
I have bought from her in the past  16mg VG but she no longer sells it that way.
So my question is:
Is this Nicotine OK to use?
I have a couple of recipes downloaded from some other sites (ripe VCT) and Grants Vanilla Custard that people claim are really good.
I want to make 70 VG / 30 PG  3mg - 4 mg (which is what I usually buy) liquid and cannot find out how to correctly make 70/30 and or am not understanding the charts/calculators.
What is the simplest way. I have purchased the flavors already and am having them sent to a friend currently in Miami right now.
PG and VG can be easily bought where I live. Can I use the pure Nicotine or should I buy PG with Nic already in the USA and have my friend bring it?
Are most e liquids made with the same flavors like The Flavor apprentice and similar flavor products *TFA?
Sorry for the newbie questions but would love some help.
Thank you very much

'120ml of 34mg' 'not deluted'

I could be wrong , though I doubt I am.. if it were pure nic it would be a higher mg given the ml capacity. I don't think 34mg has a weight in volume of 120ml. It must be in a suspension, pg being the obvious choice.
Don will be your best candidate for a more specific answer to that.
As to mixing ratios, I've no idea but others will Smile

Your right, I double checked with her and it is in a PG solution!
Sorry about that.

RE: 70/30 and Nicotine Help Newbie here :)
You are trying to make 4mg juice and have 34mg nicotine solution. And want a PG ratio of around 70%.

The nicotine counts as PG as do the flavourings.

Let's assume you are making 100ml of juice:

You need 400mg of nicotine and you have 34mg/ml nicotine. So you need 400/34=11.8ml of nic solution.

In total you need 70ml of PG. Assuming 20% flavour which is a reasonable place to start though with that high a PG ratio you could probably be fine with 15%. So we add 20ml of flavour to our 11.8ml of nicotine. We now have 31.8ml.

We need 70-31.8=38.2ml more PG then we add 30ml of VG and that's the job done.

Actually 3mg of nicotine would be fine and No, I want a 70VG 30PG no vice versa. But I think I got it, I will just reverse your numbers.
Not sure I have ever seen more than 50% PG but could be wrong.
Thanks again

You aren't going to reach 70VG I think.

You want a total of 300mg of nicotine then. So 300/34=8.82ml of nicotine solution. 20% flavour (Counts as PG) so you have 28.82ml of PG. So you need to add 1.18ml of PG (I wouldn't bother) to get 30% PG. then just make up to 100ml with VG.

I appreciate all your help!!
Just got back from my supplier and she only had 50/50, I bought 1 liter and I have VG already separate.
I also bought 30 ml Colonel Custard concentrate and 30ml of 36mg nicotine in PG base.
I have a 240 ml bottle and wanted to make a batch of liquid from what I currently have.
Do you know how I can make a batch of 70vg/30pg with 3 mg nicotine in my 240ml bottle?
I am not sure how to turn the 50/50 into 70/30.
I appreciate all your information. I have a 30ml colonel custard concentrate.
Thank you!!

RE: 70/30 and Nicotine Help Newbie here :)
Not a problem

I'm assuming 100ml of juice.
So about 20ml of Colonel Custard.

You want 3mg final nicotine level so you need 300mg of nicotine in the final mix. So that's 8.3ml of 36mg nicotine. So we now have 28ml of PG between the flavour and the nic. So to get to 70% VG (I'd not get too hung up on ratios - 60-70% will work the same) 4ml of the 50:50 will add 2ml of PG. Then throw in 68ml of VG. Don't bother measuring the VG, just fill a 100ml bottle with VG on top of the rest.

I honestly have no idea of the optimal mix with that concentrate. It might need a little more or less.

I'd check one of the recipe sites to see what percentage of Colonel Custard normally gets used and adjust accordingly.

THANK YOU.
I actually have a 240ml bottle so wanted to make the whole batch to have a full 240ml of final liquid.
I think Colonel custard says to use 15%
Thanks and I really appreciate your quick responses, amazing. Where I live it is really really hard to get anything, so That is why I accepted the 50/50 bc there was no other option.
Thanks again and have a great New Year!
Appreciate the help for a newbie. Once I get all my supplies from the USA I will be able to just follow the calculators programs available.
The getting the 50/50 to 70/30 was throwing me off and there are no calculators to figure it out.
Thank you.

RE: 70/30 and Nicotine Help Newbie here :)
If it says 15% (I'd make up 10ml at 15 and 20% first though to see what works for you)

Then you want 240ml

You want 3x240mg of nicotine. 720mg which is 20ml of 36mg.

Call the flavour 15% (But I'd test this first to see what works best for you) Most custard flavours need steeping of 3-4 weeks for the best flavour. Assuming 15% 240x0.15=36ml. Which is a little more than you have.

You now have 56ml of PG. You want 240ml at 30% PG. 30% of 240ml is 80ml (approximately - the minor variations just don't matter). So add 48ml of 50:50 then fill the bottle with VG.

But do try the percentage of Colonel Custard that works for you first. The higher the VG percentage, the higher the flavour percentage that works best.

I'd mix up 10ml samples (divide the numbers by 10) at 15 and 20% and let them steep for 3-4 weeks before testing.
