0.3 ohm advice
Apologies for the following, although I'm a committed vaper ( it got me off the fags after 40 odd years), I know nowt about the technicalities. I do mouth to lung, started with a Jacvapour Tilt, 1.8 ohm coils at 14W and I've stuck to that. Fancying buying another mod, I see adverts for mod kits with 0.3 ohm coils running at 50W and much higher. I always thought that the low resistance coils were for direct to lung (don't ask me why). I guess my question is can I happily buy a kit using 0.3 ohm coils for mouth to lung? Ta muchly for any advice.

RE: 0.3 ohm advice
Simple answer - no. A .3 ohm coil is way too low for MTL.

Hi Chiselwizard - welcome to the forum. Short answer is no. Longer answer is DTL needs lots of airflow MTL needs very little. Kits using .3ohm coils will be by nature big on airflow and they won't have a coil fit for MTL. If you are looking for a new set-up for MTL the Nautilus 2 is one of the best around. Can I say that 14W for a 1.8ohm coil is very high. I MTL and if I am vaping a coil of that resistance the highest I would be is 9W. Even with a 1.2 ohm coil you are only looking at about 11W of power. Because you MTL you are not looking for a mod with lots of power - some of the Isticks are worth looking at - I would recommend a mod throwing out not more than 50W - you will never need that. 20W would actually be more than enough. Best of luck - any other questions don't be afraid to ask - there are lots of friendly and helpful people here willing to help.

RE: 0.3 ohm advice
So, to add a bit of why to their wonderful posts...

With MTL, your power would be far too low for a .3 coil to heat up sufficiently to get a good vape, if at all. You'd maximize your lung capacity long before you would get enough heat to get some atomization going. OR, you would have to apply so much power your airflow restrictions via MTL would be so great that you would not be able to keep up with the vapor. So stay above 1 ohm with MTL for sure.

Wish I'd come on here before - all is now clear. Also, many thanks for your advice re my wattage - turned it down to 9W and a much nicer smoke. Guess it also explains why I was going through coils so quickly. May the Lottery God shine on you.

RE: 0.3 ohm advice
At 1.8 ohms, I'd recommend turning it down even more - those itty bitty coils are happiest between 7 and 8 watts.  My wife still vapes MTL after over 4 years, and uses 1.8's.  14 watts would definitely go through them quick!

Remind one liberal per day, that laws affect only the law-abiding.
